Downtown after Five will be starting its 24th year on May 18 on Lexington Street between Hiawasse St. and the I-240 Overpass. Velvet Truckstop and Kellin Watson Band will open that night. I have lived in Asheville for nearly 48 years. It wasn't until 3 or 4 years ago that I began to see bears in my yard, mostly at night when they destroyed my bird feeders.
